Which Is the Best Attire, Ethnic or Western?

As a girl, we have a lot of choice for the clothes we wish to wear. Aren't we are all judged for the type of clothes we wear, be it to a marriage or even to a party?
We youngsters, have a varied opinion on this topic. Some of us say that we must adapt to western clothing as they are attractive, more comfortable than ethnic and gives us more confidence and that we do not have to keep adjusting our Saree or holding on to our Dupatta every time a breeze blows whereas others say that wearing western clothes, for example, a jeans pant or trousers and a top, you can simply walk comfortably on road. Just think of functions or family get-together which take place in summer! Walking in a shiny gown, fancy skirt is much better than walking in neither an embroidered or Silk Saree nor a tight traditional suit! Palazzo and culottes are really comfortable and if paired with the right accessories, can be worn to family functions as well! Dungarees, on the other hand makes a person look really bold and confident! I read a study the researchers performed recently. It was of people who wore their national dress as a symbol of unity. This research showed that the people who had adapted to western clothes had fewer behavioral and emotional problems.
Ever heard aunties gossip about a girl who wears a one piece? Yes, me too! Those are the kind of people who think it's wrong to adapt to western clothing because the culture and tradition will be lost. So, wearing a saree or a kurta everyday represents our culture and identity? No, I doubt it. Draping a saree is very time consuming, don't you think? Why do we need to pick that as an option when there are many more options?
In India, families are still orthodox. They think wearing ethnic clothes show that they have been brought up from a decent family and that they are modest. They make a huge deal about a girl who is seen wearing a one piece while going to a party or if she wears a palazzo to a function. I do agree that we should not run off from our traditional clothing, but we should follow the current trends as well!
In the society we live in, a woman is judged by different people and every person have their own opinion. But, dressing up the way a woman wants is more important than to dress up for the society. If she likes to wear western clothes, she must go for it! If she doesn't like western, ethnic is always smiled upon by everyone! A woman should dress up for herself and she should always feel confident and bold without feeling inferior about herself.
Let me put in some facts about what women used to wear during the 7th and 9th century. Women in southern India had not even covered their upper body part, as the climate was hot. It was acceptable back then. Now, if a girl shows one inch of her skin on her waist, she is uncultured? What about when women wear sarees? It shows six inches of your skin and that is acceptable? Only after the British rule came in, the western clothing such as skirts, pants, trousers, palazzo, tops, etc... Are ruling the minds of youngsters. I'm sure half the people who wear western clothes still follow this Indian culture.
I personally think that one must not compare ethnic with western clothing without actually knowing the facts. Everyone should have their own level of comfort and must not be pressurized to wear only ethnic and vice versa. So, given the choice of clothing to women, they must decide the type of clothes for any given occasion. I would like to conclude by saying that it is preferred to wear ethnic clothes during traditional functions which will promote our culture and make us seem like we are more attached to our roots, although western can be preferred otherwise.
Once I was scouting on the internet to explore more variety of Western as well as Ethnic apparels, suddenly I came across a site called http://www.henypenny.com The manner in which the Heny Penny site let it's users compare the products is just phenomenal, I strongly recommend you all to go and have a price check and the actual comparison over there.
